About the Role
The Quality Manager will be responsible for the quality assurance function of the manufacturing facilities, OEM suppliers, and contract manufacturers for Tate.
What You'll Do:
- Create and maintain manufacturing's quality control operator work instructions and in-process check sheets in strict alignment with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ensure quality of existing manufactured products by conducting shop-floor audits and verifying manufacturing's adherence to quality control processes and procedures.
- Collect and analyze shop-floor data as a basis for continuous improvement and prepares daily, weekly, and monthly quality assurance summary reports.
- Ensure new products are launched with the highest quality by proactively establishing quality assurance and control processes before product launch via strict adherence to the qualification process.
- Establish and maintain an effective Supplier Quality Assurance Program by designing, implementing, and maintaining vendor quality standards for purchased raw material and sub-contracted parts. Ensures material traceability and robust vendor corrective action and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the performance of routine & job-specific performance tests to ensure compliance with internal and external published specifications.
- Oversee and be responsible for inspection and handling of nonconforming material and calibration.
- Assist with the continuous improvement of product and manufacturing processes to improve quality, reduce costs, and ensure product quality objectives are met.
- Develop and implement ongoing evaluation and training programs for all staff; ensures all employees under the quality function meet expected competencies for their role and ensures training plans are implemented to address any competency gaps.
- Maintain awareness of individual contribution to and the impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; reports all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.

- Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
- Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
- Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.

What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and a minimum of 5 years' experience working in the quality function in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience defining and implementing quality management procedures to meet product engineering and market requirements.
- Understanding of process variability, its impact on product quality, and the use of statistical tools to measure variability and drive continuous improvement.
- Hands-on experience with advanced statistical tools, including sampling size, hypothesis testing, process capabilities, Individual Moving Range chart, and six pack analysis.
- Experience in root cause and corrective action / Lean 6 Sigma understanding.
- Hands on experience implementing and/or using in-line automated IT integrated data collection and SPC analysis systems.
- Strong engineering aptitude and the ability to assist with translating product specifications to manufacturing (machine, equipment, and tooling) processes that exceed a CpK of 1 and approach CpK of 1.33.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing as applied to the quality management process.
- Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) experience required.
- Knowledge of aluminum extrusion cutting, milling, and assembly; adhesives used in laminating processes; metal stamping; resistance/spot welding; paint (E-coat powder coat) processes; and cement/ concrete processes preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
