Job Profile Summary
The Technician II, Network, is responsible for intermediate level installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications networks. This includes both wired and wireless networks that support voice, data, and video communications. This role will work closely with network technicians, engineers, and other technical teams to ensure network reliability and performance.
Duties and Responsibilities (included but not limited to):
- Install and configure telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, modems, and other network devices.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as software upgrades, patch installations, and system backups.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues related to connectivity, latency, and bandwidth.
- Collaborate with network engineers to design and implement network improvements and expansions.
- Respond to service tickets and resolve network-related problems reported by users or automated monitoring systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with network security policies and standards.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum Years Experience: 2 - 4 Yrs.
- Minimum Education: Associate's degree.

- Solid knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in computers, software, and database systems.
- Working knowledge of PoN, WDM, VoIP, SIP technologies.
- Working knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, and BGP.
- Experience with vendor management and vendor software upgrade procedure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or equivalent are a plus.
- Hands-on experience and working knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, L2VPN, MPLS, ISIS and BGP.
- Hand-on experience and working knowledge of Juniper routers and switches.
- Knowledge of network standards and golden configurations.
