Job Summary:
The Accounting Analyst position will be responsible for the day-to-day, month-end accounting and procurement of products for the Livestock Nutrition Division. This position will have a major role in analyzing data for inefficiencies and discrepancies as well as preparation of reporting. This is a full-time salaried exempt position that will report to the Controller.
Accounting Analyst Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist in month-end close with an emphasis on Livestock Nutrition.
- Procurement of products, enter P.O.'s, Receivers, and generate pricing.
- Detailed daily analysis of sales and gross margin reports.
- Oversight of periodic and year-end inventory counts and adjustments for livestock nutrition.
- Work with Livestock Nutrition to drive ERP efficiency.
- Prepare monthly financial statement package for division and branch managers.
- Detailed analysis of operating expenses.
- Assist in preparation of the annual budget for Livestock Nutrition.
- Analyze overhead allocation methods and make monthly entries.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
- Assist external auditor with year-end inventory counts.
- Strengthen policies and procedures with CSR's and Managers at the division level.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Accounting Analyst Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent managerial and financial skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate as an advisor.
- Thorough understanding of management and financial practices in all areas and phases of business operations.
Accounting Analyst Education and Experience:
- Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or business-related degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three years' accounting experience working for an agricultural or manufacturing company.
- Experience with identifying KPI's and providing insight into financial results.
- Experience working with external auditors desired, but not required.
- Prior Supervisory experience.
- CPA or CMA desired, but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- May need to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
