This position will be responsible for is providing technical expertise in developing and deploying cloud-based solutions. The candidate will have strong expertise in Azure architecture, cloud infrastructure design and deployment, and excellent communication skills.
This position may be performed remotely; however, candidates local to the Washington, DC Metro Virginia area are preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and our clients to assess their cloud infrastructure requirements and provide guidance on the best solutions to meet their needs.
- Carry out migrations from client on-premises environments to the cloud, including interfacing with and changing networking-related functions of the environments.
- Engineer complex cloud infrastructures for both customer and internal environments.
- Assist our clients in transforming their infrastructure to modern technologies and methods used to run line-of-business (LOB) applications.
- Work with our customers to validate existing infrastructure security, performance and availability and make recommendations for improvements and optimization.
- Lead technical customer engagements.
- Act as a technical escalation point within the team.
- Participate in deep dive sessions to share knowledge with other engineers and develop efficient customer solutions.
- Consistently share best practices with team members and help create knowledge base articles and documentation to solve/workaround issues.
- Provide advanced support for infrastructure-related issues and incidents.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field preferred.
- Occasional travel to client sites within the Maryland, D.C. and Virginia area.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure design, including experience with Azure PaaS and IaaS services.
- Strong experience with cloud migration and deployment methodologies.
- Strong experience in implementing security and compliance in cloud solutions.
- Experience with the use of networking devices to accomplish cloud migration initiatives including Cisco, Meraki, Sonicwall, Palo Alto, Fortigate, and Ubiquiti.
- Experience with the use of OpenAI, Augmented AI, Cognitive Services, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence fundamentals.
- Experience with Azure Front Door, Web Application Firewalls, Load Balancers, and Application Gateways.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.) and Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft 365 products, including but not limited to Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), Entra ID, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and Power Automate.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Azure certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert is highly preferred.
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect and AWS Certified DevOps Engineer is highly preferred.
