Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Controls Specialist is the technical SME (subject matter expert) throughout all phases of operations, production optimization, and process improvement identifying and supporting key strategies, programs, and capital projects to deliver the highest value business benefit to the company.
Position Responsibilities:
- Support automation hardware, as well as associated software platforms. Must be familiar with Allen Bradley hardware and Rockwell software.
- Continuous Improvement for key strategies / programs across the enterprise (includes development and roll out of new)
- Site lead and liaison to Technical Services and IT for MES (SAP MII, Historian, etc.) data, reporting, and analytic issues and enhancements.
- Bring ideas forward and use data to drive operational and cost efficiency initiatives in the Automation space.
- Utilize problem solving methodologies and root cause analyses to continuously improve processes.
- Coach peers and operators on methods and processes.
- Explore and implement industry-proven ways to automate new & existing systems.
- Support industry and Treehouse-specific design standard patterns on both equipment and process level.
- Ensure that technical solutions comply with company security practices and pass audit requirements in partnership with IT.
- Provide support to capital project teams.
- Provide initial and supporting information of technical and economic feasibility analysis for automation efforts, focusing on improvements to the current state that deliver competitive advantages.
- Execute established start-up protocols - Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests and Commission, Qualify, and Verify.
- Work cross-functionally with the site leadership team, Capital Engineering, Reliability and Maintenance, Technical Services, Environmental Engineer, R&D and IT to ensure cross-functional alignment and meet company objectives.
- Prepare and maintain all specific documentation related to job activities.
- Establish practices and procedures to backup and sustain automation programs and files.
- Establish practices and procedures to properly administer change management for automation programs and files.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
- 5+ years controls experience in a manufacturing environment; consumer packaged goods or food/beverage experience preferred
- Continuous improvement mindset, to challenge current processes both internally and externally
- Working knowledge of sanitary equipment design
