Job Summary and Qualifications
This position is responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of the transplant process of the programs. Main responsibilities include managing a group of employees that deliver shared support services across the Transplant Program; establishing workflows/processes which are aligned with program policies; and managing objectives and key performance metrics.
- Responsible for the daily operations and clinical resource for transplant evaluations, waitlist management and post-transplant care
- Analyzes pertinent data, communicates findings, documents information and assumes accountability for decisions and actions.
- Assists in the care coordination of the acutely ill transplant patient to facilitate communication with the transplant surgeon and other consultants as needed.
- Monitors and evaluates daily productivity statistics in collaboration with the Director.
- Create or assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization and nursing standards.
- Provides leadership and demonstrates responsibility and accountability for the delivery of safe, quality, transplant care for assigned departments on a 24- hour basis.
- Ensures department's standard of practice, policies and procedures meet compliance with UNOS, OPTN, TJC, and CMS.
- Makes procedural or process suggestions for achieving team goals or performing team functions; provides necessary resources or helps to remove obstacles to team accomplishments.
What qualifications you will need:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of 2 years in the field of transplant.
LICENSURE/ CERTIFICATIONS:
- Current registration with the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS required.
