Marketing Segmentation Analyst
University of Illinois Foundation is the official fundraising and private gift-receiving organization of the University of Illinois System. The Foundation has an immediate opening in the Advancement Intelligence department for a Marketing Segmentation Analyst. Seeking a highly motivated, proactive and energetic individual to work along a dynamic team of analysts. The Advancement Intelligence department works with multiple Colleges and Units in the System and provides a wide range of analytic and marketing segmentation related services that support the University's advancement mission.
Applicants will focus on working in a fast-paced environment assisting in the execution of marketing segmentation programs and plans that impact the implementation of marketing communication strategies. Applicants should be able to demonstrate the capability to handle the minimum and/or preferred qualifications expected in this role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Interprets programming criteria and queries database, using SQL or Query tool, to create data files for vendor mail, email and telemarketing campaigns, as dictated by marketing schedule and unit strategic priorities.
2. Responsible for programming marketing segments (verifying and reviewing program logic), overseeing accuracy checks, creating documentation.
3. Specializes in detailed project production specifically focusing on telemarketing projects and other complex solicitations.
4. Assists the Segmentation and Annual Giving staff with projects in the area of annual funds solicitations and mass marketing communications.
5. Maintains high standards for timeliness, quality of work, and customer service.
6. Implements operational efficiencies that increase the effectiveness and productivity of annual giving programs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years related work experience is required.
- Candidates should possess a familiarity with database and data/report generation applications.
- Working experience of analyzing data using SQL or Query tools in any database environment.
- Willingness to learn new applications and databases.
- Good working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Ability to set priorities and coordinate work in order to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to work with personnel in various UI colleges/departments.
- Attention to high-quality production; and ability to exercise courtesy, tact and flexibility.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Familiarity with University of Illinois fundraising activities is desirable.
• Knowledge of Blackbaud CRM or similar CRM applications.
• Data Analysis experience using SQL in a MS SQL Server environment.
