Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is the flagship hospital of Community Medical Centers - a not-for-profit healthcare system based in Fresno, California, and the largest healthcare provider and private employer in central California. Responsibilities:
In this role you will work closely with the Hospitalists, Oncologists, Oncology Nurse Practitioner, Oncology Fellows and the Oncology nursing staff. You will use your expertise in assessing a patient's physical and emotional status, past health history, health practices, and both the patient's and the family's knowledge of the disease and its treatment.
You will manage a team of 4 medical or surgical oncology patients per shift and work expertly with the multidisciplinary oncology team to achieve realistic healthcare goals for an individual and family.
You will plan your nursing care to promote patient comfort, provide patients and their families with information related to pain control and patient education.
You will maintain ONS certification and deliver chemotherapy. In addition, you will closely monitor patients, manage emergencies and provide ongoing supportive care. After treatment, you will help to transition patients to the appropriate level of care.
Qualifications:
Education
• Graduate of approved nursing program required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
Experience
• Consistent demonstration of Novice / Advance Beginner clinical nursing practice proficiency required
Licenses and Certifications
• RN - Current State of California Registered Nurse license required
• BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required

Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire or transfer into job for the following departments: CPCU, CVS Progressive 8W, ICU Medical, ICU Trauma, Neuroscience ICU, Neuroscience 9W, ICU Stepdown(PCU), Burn Center, Med Surg 2 East, Med Surg 5 Central, PCU 7W, Orthopedics, Emergency, FH ADTC-Advanced Diag Test Ctr, Burn Therapy, Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, FH Surgery, Neurosurgery, PACU, FH PACU, Short Stay Surgery, FH Short Stay Surgery, OB Triage, Oncology, Radiography Therapeutic, Endoscopy. Clovis: ICU, CPCU, ED, Labor & Delivery, Antepartum Testing, OB Triage PACU, Short Stay Surgery, Endoscopy.
Basic Arrhythmia must be obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer into job for the following departments: Centralized Flex Staffing, Burn Center, Med Surg 2 East, Med Surg 5 Central, PCU 7W, Orthopedics, Oncology, CPCU, CVS Progressive 8W, Labor & Delivery, OB Triage, Nurse Float-PR Only. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer into job for the following departments: Centralized Flex Staffing, Nurse Float-PR Only. Clovis: Nurse Float-PR Only.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire or transfer into job for the following departments: PICU Pediatric ICU, Burn Center, Pediatric, ED, PACU, Short Stay Surgery, Burn Therapy, Radiography Therapeutic, Endoscopy (except for nurses in pre-admission testing). Clovis: ED, PACU.
National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale Course must be obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer into job for the following departments: Centralized Flex Staffing, ICU Medical, ICU Trauma, Neuroscience ICU, Neuroscience 9W, ICU Stepdown(PCU), ED, Nurse Float-PR Only. Clovis: ICU, ED, Nurse Float-PR Only.
Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Course must be obtained within 6 months of date of hire or transfer into job for the following departments (exceptions may apply, refer to Policy #10925): Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, OB Triage. Clovis: Labor & Delivery, Antepartum Testing, OB Triage.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer into job for the following departments: PICU, NICU, Pediatric, Obstetrics, Newborn Nursery, Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, OB Triage. Clovis: NICU, Obstetrics, Labor & Delivery, Antepartum Testing, OB Triage.
Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer into job for the following departments: Oncology.
Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) by the National Certification Corporation (NCC) must be obtained within 1 year of hire or transfer into job for the following departments (exceptions may apply, refer to Policy #10925): Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, OB Triage.
