The Project Superintendent is directly responsible for supervising on-site construction at a single project or multiple same location projects. He/She is responsible to schedule, coordinate and supervise all craft and subcontractor activities, procure materials and equipment, resolve day-to-day challenges on the jobsite, inspect all work during construction to assure compliance with plans and specifications, resolve conflict and negotiate subcontractor invoices. The Project Superintendent will be directly involved in the development of preliminary schedules and assisting with the constructability review and site logistics planning during the preconstruction phase of a project. The Project Superintendent reports to the Project Manager.
The Project Superintendent must have an advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control, and needs to have the ability to control and supervise numerous or large groups of workers. The Project Superintendent is the General Contractor’s representative on the jobsite and must possess qualified experience managing all on site construction activities. He/She must be able to further employee skills and productivity and promote vendor/subcontractor and client relations as well as effectively manage on-site production seeking to assure quality work, jobsite security and safety at all times.
