At Valley Regional Hospital, patients are the center of our coordinated care system and right now we have an opening for a Speech Language Pathologist to join our team for the majority of the work in outpatient. This position will have heavy focus in pediatrics, and also be able to cover adult outpatient services and swing to inpatient care as needed.
The primary responsibility of the Speech Language Pathologist is: to diagnose and treat individuals of all ages who have health-related conditions that limit their ability to perform functional activities which fall under the speech language pathology scope of practice. Responsible for administration and direct application of speech/language pathology treatment modalities as prescribed by a referring physician. Examines each individual and develops a plan of care using treatment techniques to restore or maximize function and slow or prevent decline following disease or injury. Coordinates, supervises, and delegates to supportive staff. Assures and maintains personal competency. Provides information related to departmental budget considerations in relationship to speech pathology needs for optimum patient care and service. Communicates the organization’s vision within the rehab team and interactions with patients; aligns work efforts to support its fulfillment.
An ideal Candidate would have the following qualifications:
- Demonstrates initiative and follow-through
- Able to practice autonomously yet work well within a close-knit team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to operate technology for daily functions as required by the organization and department standards.
- High integrity, able to follow procedures
- Valid speech language pathology license in the state of New Hampshire
- Current BLS
