Job Summary:
The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of the Human Resources Department. This individual’s primary focus will be on recruiting efforts for non-exempt positions at a Food Manufacturing Plant. The HR Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the local HR team with maintaining personnel records, benefit administration, coordinating employer-sponsored events, and responding to general inquiries from plant associates.
Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:
· Professionally engages with candidates, employees, and leaders to address routine inquiries and concerns.
· Assists in the management of physical and electronic records such as new hire paperwork, training, attendance, disciplinary actions, leave of absence, etc.
· Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of open requisitions within the application tracking system.
· Composes compelling job postings tailored for hourly/non-exempt production roles.
· Conducts thorough phone and in-person interviews to assess candidates’ qualifications and fit for the role.
· Prepares and extends job offers, overseeing the pre-employment screening process.
· Coordinates and facilitates new employee orientation (NEO) and other training sessions as required.
· Manages the assignment and upkeep of lockers for Plant employees.
· Updates electronic communication channels, bulletins boards, and other platforms to facilitate HR-related communications.
· Contributes to the planning and coordination of employee sponsored events.
· Provides administrative support in benefits administration and annual open enrollment.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Bilingual in Spanish/English with the ability to speak, read, write, and translate.
Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to uphold working relationships with stakeholders at all levels within the organization.
Ability to exercise good judgment in the application of HR best practices, policies, procedures, employment laws, and regulations.
Tactfully dealing with others in difficult or sensitive situations while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
Possess the ability to respond urgently and proactively to address employee matters, questions, and concerns.
Exceptional organization and time management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and human resources information system (HRIS) databases.
Education & Experience:
· High School diploma, GED (general education development) certificate, or equivalent required.
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
A minimum of 1-2 years HR experience, with a focus on recruiting functions, is preferred.
Working Conditions:
· Work is performed in an office environment with telephones, personal computers, and printers.
· The noise level of the environment is usually moderate.
· Sedentary position with seldom to occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.
· May require standing less than or equal to 1/3 of the day.
