Job Title : Geotechnical Engineer
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting geological and geotechnical analyses, assessing potential risks related to construction projects, and providing recommendations to ensure project success and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geotechnical engineering, proficiency in various geotechnical analysis software, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct geological surveys and site investigations to assess soil composition, rock stability, and other geological factors affecting construction projects.
2. Perform geotechnical analyses using specialized software and tools to evaluate slope stability, bearing capacity, and foundation design.
3. Collaborate with project teams to develop geotechnical designs and solutions that meet project requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
4. Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications documenting geological and geotechnical findings and recommendations.
5. Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to geotechnical design specifications and identify any potential risks or deviations.
6. Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, contractors, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Conduct field inspections and testing to verify soil properties, evaluate construction materials, and assess the performance of geotechnical structures.
8. Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in geotechnical engineering technology, and regulatory changes to enhance project delivery and mitigate risks.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Proven experience in geotechnical engineering, including site investigation, soil testing, and geotechnical analysis.
3. Proficiency in geotechnical software such as Slide2, APILE, GeoStudio, PLAXIS, FLAC, or similar programs.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex geological and geotechnical data.
5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to diverse stakeholders.
6. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in reporting and documentation.
7. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
8. Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure is preferred.
9. Willingness to travel to project sites and work in varying environmental conditions.
