VHS is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Neurology Physician to join our healthcare team in Johnson City, TN!
- Availability and Work Hours:
- Full-Time Equivalent (FTE): 80 hours every two weeks.
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am 4:30 pm.
- On call Hours:
- One weekend on call every month with a 1:4 ratio.
- Must be available within 15 minutes by phone and be physically on-site within 60 minutes.
- Weekend coverage, including rounds (consults and follow-ups) during assignment periods.
- Clinical Services:
- Provide outpatient procedures and clinic services during scheduled clinics.
- Conduct consultations and follow-ups in a timely manner based on patient medical conditions.
- Responsible for communicating test results promptly and performing rounds.
- Participate in resident teaching at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
- Staff fellow s clinic, physician assistant clinic, attending clinic, E-Consults, and various procedures.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters and consultations.
- Emergency Neurology Services:
- Provide on-call emergency Neurology services as assigned by the Chief of Neurology.
- Report within 45 minutes of notification for emergencies and be available within 10 minutes by phone.
- Resident Supervision and Teaching:
- Provide an academic environment conducive to the training and professional development of residents.
- Ensure compliance with Residency Review documentation and standards for medical records.
- Offer clinical direction and oversight to residents/fellows consistent with accreditation guidelines.
- Contribute to clinical research, protocol development, data management, and quality assurance conferences.

Qualifications:- Board certified or eligible for certification by The American Board of Internal Medicine in Neurology.
- Providers shall possess a current, valid, active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States, throughout the term of this contract.
