Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
Assumes responsibility for the diagnosis, prevention, therapy, maintenance and rehabilitation of patients. Manage complex medical patients, use point of care ultrasound and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) OMT peer review on the Medical Director.
1. Interviews and examines patients, reviews past medical history, and requests and/or performs diagnostic tests and examinations deemed necessary to obtain all possible information related to each case. Provides definitive management and full spectrum family ambulatory practice in all medical categories for cases.
2. Conducts outpatient clinics making observations appropriate to the outpatient's underlying disease and treatment plan, including current symptoms. Reviews the patient's medications, diet, therapy course, adherence to management plan and patient observations. Modifies regimen as indicated. Instructs and counsels patients and family members as required and does so in a culturally sensitive manner.
3. Refers patients to appropriate contracted medical facilities, providing full clinical information for care and diagnostic procedures that cannot be adequately provided at the Uintah and Ouray Service Unit.
4. Assures preparation of appropriate medical records for all patients seen to assure the accumulation and organization of all pertinent clinical data needed to provide comprehensive medical care. Provides clinical reports and correspondence concerning patients under his/her care to physicians, hospitals, and other individuals and facilities.
5. Works closely with allied health professionals (i.e., clinical nurses, social workers, health educators, etc.) to utilize and coordinate the services of other health care professionals in the management of the patients medical, psychological and social problems.
6. Provides prenatal care to expectant patients in the first and second trimester.
7. Provides pediatric care from newborn to adulthood and is familiar with growth, development, disease states and the unique status of pediatric patients.
8. Is active in pre-visit planning of the clinic, coordination of care and participates in clinic improvement activities.
9. Efficiently navigates via electronic medical record for a-prescribing, documentation, and orders including referrals in compliance with Meaningful Use and ICD-10 requirements.
10. Evaluates and treats approximately 12-20 patients during an 8-hour work day. Performs Peer Review and attends assigned committee meetings.
11. Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures normally performed by family practice such as but not limited to:
A. Performs minor surgery including but not limited to laceration repair and excision of skin lesions.
B. Supervises other health care providers including physicians, physicians' assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists and medical clerks.
C. Performs orthopedic procedures such as joint injections, joint aspirations, aspiration of cysts, trigger point injections and other procedures normally performed by an outpatient family physician.

Requirements:
Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from a school in the United States or Canada
This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical College; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S
Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination
Licensure: Applicant must possess a current, active, unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
Graduate Training: Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, a candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., 1 year internship or the first year of a residency program in hospital or an institution accredited to such training
Graduate training programs include those internship, residency and fellowship programs that are approved by accrediting bodies recognized within the United States or Canada
4 years of graduate training in the specialty of the position to be filled or equivalent experience and training
Work must have involved a close working relationship with departmental managers and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, and allied health services providing knowledge of the following: Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems; Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement
Currently possess the required Board Certification in a physician's specialty by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and have submitted documents with my application to support this eligibility
Only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S
Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university
Selectee may be required to travel and must possess a valid driver license
Must be willing and able to pass Federal Security Clearance pre hire
Compensation details: 150-150 Hourly Wage
