Inpatient Nurse Manager
Part Time Weekend shift 10 am - 8:30 pm Sat/ Sun (20 hours per week)
Other coverage for supervisor may be required on occasion
Under the direction of the CNO, the Inpatient Nurse Manager assumes responsibility of nursing services for the delivery of a quality, comprehensive and collaborative nursing care with the Inpatient hospital. Functions as a nurse leader managing staff to assure safe, competent and professional care through consultation, support, training and supervision. Identification of areas of improvement will be made with the Inpatient Director. Expected outcomes include improved nurse staffing coverage, satisfactory quality metrics scores, and satisfactory Joint Commission performance.
Qualifications:
- Current Maryland RN license or eligible multistate compact license
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
- 3-5 years experience in an RN supervisory role
- 2 years experience as an RN in a psychiatric inpatient facility
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, medical records maintenance
Key responsibilities:
- Directly supervises nursing services for Inpatient services and assists with setting up nursing coverage in the Partial Hospitalization Programs or ECT
- Carries supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Acts as a liaison to patients and patient’s support system if patient feels care was unsatisfactory
- Attends Leadership meetings as assigned
- Facilitates nursing staff meetings
- May serve as a member of the Pharmacy Committee, Staff Development Committee or other committees
- Participates in or leads incident root cause analysis or incident debriefing meetings
- Provides input and implements quality improvement in operation of the Inpatient units
- Oversees nursing schedule providing adequate staffing levels
- Oversees hiring, supervision, performance management and termination of nursing and Inpatient staff
- Assists with on-call responsibilities
