Description:
The heart of Boston Ballet is the human experience. Through our living and breathing art, we forge human connections—between artist and attendee, teacher and trainee, friend and newcomer, one's outer and inner self. We believe that the community of employees that makes dance possible is better together when talented individuals with varied life experiences, identities, races, cultures and ideas are welcomed, encouraged, and heard.
Adaptive Dance Percussionists are integral to the teaching team and Boston Ballet's efforts to engage constituents in the community. The successful candidate will have experience in music education, prior experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, as well as experience working collaboratively in a K-12 environment. They will possess excellent communication skills, have the willingness to work collaboratively as a team, demonstrate enthusiasm for working with youth, and a commitment to students' growth and development through the arts. A successful percussionist aims to make dance and music accessible and to cultivate a new generation of life-long arts advocates and participants and will contribute to building a culture of belonging through Boston Ballet's diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging efforts.
