Veterinary Technician Manager to join our Team! The Veterinary Technician Manager is responsible for the standards of medical care, daily functions and efficiency, as well as the long-term goals and growth of our technical staff here at CASE. This position will manage and supervise staff to assure the high-quality standards of CASE are always met. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Technician leader!
Duties & Responsibilities:People Management- Maintains and monitors recruitment platform for all open ECC technical positions.
- Works closely with the Hospital Director to oversee staffing needs including hiring, training, disciplining and terminating as required.
- Recruits new employees and participates in the selection process.
- Oversees the completion of employee orientation, training and annual performance appraisals.
- Coaches and mentors employees and identifies continuous learning and skill building needs alongside the Learning and Development team.
- Assists with the implementation of performance-based incentive/rewards and recognition programs.
- Assists with mediation of conflict and maintains employee morale through positive relationships.
- Tracks and maintains current licensure for all RVTs.
Hospital Operations - Oversees Emergency, Critical Care, Nephrology, Blood Bank and Lab technical staffing and scheduling.
- Participates in Management On-call rotation.
- Partners with department leads to strategically plan and schedule support staff. Oversees staff labor as compared to budget alongside Hospital Director.
- Partners with the Hospital Director to continuously drive the hospital to maximize growth and revenue potential by optimizing ECC technical staff scheduling.
- Oversees all aspects of ECC technical staff payroll processes.
- Remains current on all facets and features of EzVet & Smartflow (hospital operating system).
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Experience as a Licensed Technician in a tertiary Veterinary setting strongly preferred.
- Supervisory experience in a Veterinary setting strongly preferred.
- Sound administrative & managerial skills.
- Attention to detail with the ability to step back and see the bigger picture.
- Ability to appropriately handle, lift and restrain animals (dogs, cats) and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to perform veterinary medical procedures (i.e., administer CPR, draw blood, administer medications and fluids, and assess and triage patients).
- Ability to communicate well with other technicians and doctors regarding the needs of the patients.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:- Compensation is based on experience and skill set. Ranging between $60-80k/ annually.
