Position Overview
_A travel radiology technologist who is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the EP Labs and supervises the staff assigned to the EP Team. Is the lead individual for interactions with the Electrophysiologists, Anesthesia providers, EP vendors, Schedulers, Nursing Clinical Supervisors, and other key resources necessary for the effective operational flow of EP services. Responsible for establishing guidelines, protocols, policies, and competencies that meet the Heart Rhythm Society practice guidelines, regulatory, or other professional standards. Management of staffing resources, operational supplies, inventory, new products, and medications will also be required. The individual reports to the Director of the CCL/EP Labs._
Experience required
At least three years as a staff member in the EP Lab.
Leadership experience preferred.
Must maintain AHA (American Heart Association) )BLS and ACLS certification every two years.
Advanced clinical certification or willing to complete within two years of employment.
Education
NASPE certification preferred.
Graduate of an approved paramedic, LPN, or cardiovascular technology program.
Ability to read and communicate in the English language.
Responsibilities
Supervises PDRNs, RNs, Technologists & Technicians
Reports to EP Lab Director
Responsible and accountable for all supplies and equipment used within the labs.
Responsible for numerous expensive and complex instruments such as X-Ray Equipment, EP Med System, 3D Mapping system,
Ablation Generators IV pumps, vacuum and oxygen regulators, Bovies and computer systems.
Has understanding of proper working order of equipment and responsible for maintenance.
Member of the Value Analysis Committee.
Monitors budgetary expenditures, noting compliance with annual operational budget, which includes payroll and/or provide
explanation if not compliant.
Assures proper patient charges and billing to include current CMS/HSCRC coding and billing guidelines. Billing is completed through
EPIC. Works with the Finance Department to ensure all revenue/rebates, etc. are captured.
Acts as a mediator in conflict situations.
Often works under pressure of time, accuracy, multiple teams in organizing and accomplishing work
Prioritizes accomplishment of goals, objectives and ideas to meet the changing needs of the EP Lab.
Address staff performance issues and provides mentoring.
Anticipates problems and proceeds with resolution in an organized, effective manner.
Often works with grieved, despondent, and mentally challenged patients.
Demonstrates effective communication skills, oral and written.
Readily assumes additional responsibilities.
Performs most duties without supervision. Consults with CCL/EP Lab Director as needed.
Frequent contact with public and families requiring effective communication skills.
Maintains a cooperative working relationship with all hospital departments and throughout the system.
Maintains a cooperative working relationship interdepartmentally.
Works effectively with Physicians, Risk Management, Medical Staff Services, Surgical Services, Anesthesia, etc.
Work Schedule
Works primarily day shift hours, Monday-Friday.
Work additional hours ( i.e. Saturday, Holiday) to meet the department's needs.
Expected to respond to any crisis, i.e., snow, hurricane, disaster, high census, etc.
Completion Bonus
5000.00 Completion bonus after the initial term of 13 weeks
