POSITION TITLE: Junior Buyer

Position Description Summary
The Junior Buyer plays a pivotal role in the procurement process, supporting the acquisition of materials and services necessary for the organization's operations. Responsible for coordinating with suppliers, negotiating prices, managing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods, the Junior Buyer facilitates seamless transactions to meet the company's needs. This role involves meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders. This position offers an opportunity for growth and development within the procurement field, providing valuable experience in supplier management, contract negotiation, and supply chain operations.
Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions, including but not limited to the following:
- Receiving Purchase requisitions, drawings, specifications from engineering, review and share with suppliers.
- Sending RFQ with all necessary information, getting quotes, checking cost, negotiating prices.
- Receiving and reviewing master schedule to understand material requirement dates and release purchase orders accordingly.
- Reviewing MRP requisitions in ERP, update information, route for approval.
- Creating PO from approved requisitions. Releasing them, getting order acknowledgment, and updating in ERP.
- Running open PO reports for supplier / job / plant, tracking, and monitoring all open POs, follow up with suppliers and ensuring timely dispatches.
- Updating master schedule for the material dates, received material, informing all in advance of any possible delays, deferment in delivery.
- Visiting suppliers as needed, coordinating inspection with QA, analyzing supplier's capacity, loading, constraints and ensuring our orders are on track.
- Keeping track of supplier lead time, updating documents, and sharing with scheduler.
- Arranging local logistics as needed.
- Ensuring proper documentation from supplier and sharing same with purchasing, receiving, and accounting team.
- Tracking dispatches.
- Receiving invoices from suppliers along with necessary documents, verifying and approving for processing for payment.
- Working with accounting for timely payment of supplier invoices, resolving commercial issues with accounting.
- Working with engineering and proposal team to get quotes for tender proposal as needed.
- Attending production, engineering and team meetings as needed.
- Recording all transactions, organizing them in ERP, retrieving them as needed.
- Following ISO procedures to meet requirements of selection of vendors, vendors evaluation and all other documentation.
- Participating in Syspro upgradation project and related sub-projects as needed.
- Generating data that can be analyzed for better decision making, creating MIS reports, and carrying out any other functional activities as needed.
- All other departmental activities.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management , Logistics, or Electrical Engineering
Required/Preferred Professional Experience:
- Two to four years' experience in Manufacturing
- ERP experience.
- Engineering background or working experience in Transformer industry preferred.

Physical Demands:
This position will have to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle strain.
Working Conditions
Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Office dress is business casual.
