As an Equipment Program Coordinator, you will maintain and administer the Richmond District’s automated equipment inventory system and serve as the primary contact for the assignment of rental, non-rental, and assist with major and minor equipment inventory.
Core responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
• M5 Management and Administration: Maintain M5 (equipment inventory management system) data to include equipment records, value changes, disposal technician record maintenance, equipment mileage, etc. Serve as primary source for M5 operations and conduct related training.
• Inventory Management: Develop, evaluate and analyze various equipment to determine trends and make recommendation to management. Track inventory data and assignments.
• Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance, guidance and interpretation of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to internal and external customers.
• Receive New Equipment: Procure and process non-rental equipment requests. Assist in coordinating and processing removal and disposal of surplus equipment.
• Program Coordination: Coordinate activities for assigned program area. Ensure activities are performed in accordance with policies, procedures, and guidelines.
VDOT is an emergency response agency and this position is the core of this requirement, therefore you will work outside of normal work hours during emergency operations.

Minimum Qualifications
• Knowledge of fleet operations and asset management.
• Knowledge of financial, procurement practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of surplus property principles and practices.
• Skill in providing excellent customer service.
• Skill in the use of computers, software applications including MS Office, spreadsheets and web-based systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to interpret, apply agency policies and regulations.
• Ability to effectively manage and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
Additional Considerations
• Experience working with fleet maintenance programs.
• Experience working with public procurement.
• Experience procuring payments for an equipment inventory program.
• Experience processing and managing payments.
• Experience working with web-based inventory programs such as M5 or a comparable system.
• Experience conducting training to diverse audiences.
• A combination of training, experience, or education in Business or a related field desired.
