Job Summary and Qualifications
Supervisor - Nursing
The Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Nurse Manager with the daily operations of her/her unit. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to acting as an educational resource for unit staff, assisting with facility scheduler processes and daily kronos editing, and performing patient rounding in an effort to maximize patient satisfaction and quality standards. In addition, the Supervisor supports the needs of the unit/organization by working with other hospital departments as needed to ensure high quality care for all patients.
What you will do in this role:
- You role demonstrates the facility's Standards of Performance, ICARE values, and Patient Promise.
- You will assist with the coordination of educational activities for staff.
- You will assist with the coordination of processes designed to ensure that the organization's quality objectives are met.
- Your role performs daily rounding to ensure patient satisfaction criteria are being met.
- Your role assesses, monitors, records, reports, and follows through on symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
- You will consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and modify the plan of care, as indicated by the patient's responses and conditions.
- You will delegate nursing tasks as appropriate and safe, but retains accountability for patient care
- You will provide individualized education for the patient, family, and or caregiver throughout the continuum of care.
- You will adhere to standards of safety and infection control, in the delivery of patient care.
- Your role demonstrates a thorough knowledge of and complies with all policies and procedures related to performance of job duties
What qualifications you will need:
- Minimum of 1 year relative unit experience
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
- Current licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing or other acceptable Board of Nursing
- Current BLS certification
- Pursue and complete specialty certification within 1 year from date of hire
