SALES TERRITORY MANAGER JOB FUNCTION: Responsible for sales and promotion of automatic, checkweigher, and industrial products in the defined territory. This includes all end user projects and OEM activities including sales outside of Yamato Corporation's region. This also includes assessment, creation and implementation of strategies and tactics needed to achieve goals as outlined by company management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Directs sales activities to end users to regain market awareness for new machine sales, Genuine Yamato Parts, and service.
2. Visits manufacturing plants and assesses machine equipment needs by climbing mezzanines and ladders averaging 15 feet in height.
3. Sales Territory Manager achieves designated annual sales quota.
4. Collaborates with Yamato OEMs' representatives and agents in the territory.
5. Collaborates with other Yamato Sales Territory Managers to coordinate sales activities.
6. Assesses, creates, and implements strategies and tactics needed to achieve goals as outlined by Yamato management.
7. Cooperates and coordinates with all departments (primarily Applications Engineering and Project Management) within Yamato relating to activities in the territory.
8. Assesses current market situations and provides recommendations for marketing activities to increase sales.
9. Develops a proficient knowledge of all Yamato equipment.
10. Provides monthly reports and forecasts, and other information and reports as requested.
11. Utilize CRM system to manage sales pipeline following the sales standard operating procedures.
12. Participates in quarterly sales meetings at Yamato in Grafton, Wisconsin.
13. Attends U.S. and international trade shows as directed. Standing for extensive periods of time and walking frequently, up to 8 hours per day, meeting and talking with customers/prospects in-person required.
TERRITORY: Central Midwest, United States. Territory states may change based on business need and manager discretion.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Living in the territory preferred.
2. Bachelor of Science degree, 5 to 10 years related packaging experience and/or training, or equivalent of combination of education and experience.
3. Capital equipment sales experience highly preferred.
4. Strong organizational skills.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
6. Technical skill of Windows based software, including MS word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook,
and Access.
7. Able to handle short periods of time in cold, damp or warm plant environments during customer/prospect visits.
8. Ability to climb ladders and mezzanines averaging 15 feet in height.
9. Ability to travel a minimum of 51% with occasional international travel required.
10. Must have valid driver's license and must be insurable.
11. Requires a valid passport to travel outside of the United States.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms and lift up to 20 pounds. Standing and walking up to 8 hours per day is required at trade shows.
