Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Surgical Technologist Evenings - LOH. In this role, the successful candidate assists Surgical Team in smooth and efficient operation of surgical suite, ensuring a high level of quality patient care is maintained. Assists professional staff before, during and after all surgical procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Perfor ms OR support responsibilities relate to surgical procedures under supervision of RN. Demonstrates knowledge of aseptic technique an avility to oversee its maintenance by all members of surgical team.
- Demontrates ability to assist surgeons with procedures done in Operating Room, based on level of competency.
- Demontrates knowledge of specific Operating Room and general hospital polices and procedures and legal aspects which affect technicians role.
- Assits surgeon and/or surgical team at sterile field by preparing and having available sterile instrument and equipment for specific surgical procedure; reviews surgeons preference card in advance, for proper case setup.
- Assists surgeon and/or surgical team in proper positioning of patient for surgery.
- Maintains patient safety by applying principles of body alignment during positioning. Knows principles and can adapt to varying situations.
- Demonstrates an ability to perform in an accurate and precise manner in crisis and emergency situations.
- Helps to ensure a quiet, safe and efficient environment in the Operating Room.
- Performs activities related to indirect patient care.
- Demonstrates an ability to maintain efficiency in Operating Room on days of high activity; cleans rooms and equipment quickly to ensure a smooth flow and adherence to Operating Room schedule.
- Collaborates with members of Operating Room team in order to maintain equipment and supplies for surgical procedure.
- Responds well to emergencies, changes in assignments, fluctuation in surgical schedule and demonstrates flexibility in planning.
- Assists in keeping Operating Room and work areas clean and organizes; restocks supplies and equipment in assigned rooms.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent required. BLS Required (America Heart Association) 1-3 years of operating room experience preferred. Must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program through NBSTSA. Certification exam must be taken and passed within 12 months of completion of surgical technologist program
Required Licenses: Cert Surgical Technologist, Basic Life Support Cert
Preferred Qualifications: Associates degree, bilingual preferred.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $78,110.00 - $102,720.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
