Job Summary:
Medical Assistant must be motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive manner. Must have the ability to communicate and work with a diverse population. Maintain patient records, prepare examination rooms before physicians or nurses need them, assist with exams, complete assignments such as blood drawing, coding administering medications and taking.
Task Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to:
Obtain and record patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Greet and check in in patients arriving at the clinic. Prepare patients to be seen by provider.
Prepare treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assist practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care.
Deliver compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
Ensure compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
Prepare and administer medications for patients as directed by provider.
Run P.O.C. tests as requested by the provider and collect and prepare lab specimens.
Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
Requirements:
Required:
- HS Diploma or GED and completion of a certified medical assistant program, Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting
- Minimum of 1 year of EPIC experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Data coding experience
