Twin Ports Testing is currently seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to work in our Geotechnical and Construction Materials Testing departments. Job Description
Serve primarily supporting the geotechnical team to provide field support of drill crews and equipment, project scoping and proposal preparation, project management of geotechnical engineering and drilling projects, and engineering review.
Assess subsurface conditions, review, and interpretation of: field maps, field logs, test data and other field documentation.
Evaluate field and laboratory test data and develop parameters for use in technical analyses.
Prepare formal geotechnical evaluation reports, including recommendations for shallow, intermediate, and deep foundations.
Coordinate and assign staff to perform drilling and CMT field testing.
Provide field engineering support for projects during construction.
Lead and mentor apprentice staff.
Manage projects and tasks with the assistance of other engineers-in-training or geologists.
Maintain client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
Maintain current working knowledge of applicable regulations, policies, procedures and technologies in designated fields.
Manage time, budget, and use resources efficiently.
Review, edit, and sign technical reports of other staff.
Participate in professional development and training activities.
Perform business development duties to meet department and company goals.
Continuously maintain client relationships and generate business.
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering (or related) with 4 or more years of experience.
Professional Engineering registration in Wisconsin or Minnesota with the ability to obtain registration in other states as required.
MDH Environtmental Well license or ability to obtain as required.
Strong geotechnical analysis and design skills.
Project management experience.
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Flexible working schedule as required to meet project needs and deadlines.
Experience with CAD, gINT, and all Microsoft Office applications.
Analytical, decision making, and problem solving skills.
Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Skills
Advanced degree in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering (or related) with 10 or more years of experience
Experience with CPT testing, Flat Plate Dilatometer testing, Vane Shear testing, and analysis.
Experience with special inspection and construction materials testing program management.
Strong relationships with clients and the ability to develop or foster ongoing relationships and maintain a high level of client service.
