We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead our financial reporting efforts as we continue to grow and expand our operations.
As a Senior Accountant at Over J, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing our financial reporting systems. With our company's growth, we require a skilled professional who can work independently to create comprehensive project analysis reports and develop detailed budget reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Engage in monthly project invoicing by validating timesheets and submitting to clients through Ariba.
- Perform analyses on general ledger accounts monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Track project costs, including expenses, labor, materials, and overhead.
- Prepare project budgets, forecast future costs, and monitor budget adherence to identify potential overruns.
- Create project-specific financial reports, summarizing performance and providing insights to stakeholders.
- Generate and analyze financial and budget information.
- Support the Fractional Controller and CEO with financial statement reporting, analysis, budget preparation, and management reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement project cost analysis, tailored to the needs of Over J.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and insights.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections.
- Develop, prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop and maintain budgets, forecasting future financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Proven experience 2+ years in accounting and financial reporting, ideally in a senior role.
- Strong proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP Ariba).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Ability to work independently and proactively to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in cash basis accounting (preferred)
- Experience in tax planning (preferred).
