Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Short Run Digital Press Operator – Nights is responsible for the efficient operation of a digital press and related finishing equipment.
PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
· Ripping files produced from data files using digital print equipment.
· Set up and running in line Saddle Stitcher and Perfect Binder.
· Reviewing all proofs and final product samples produced on digital equipment before releasing to internal or external customers.
· Make adjustments to and maintain print quality throughout the print run.
· Conduct regular and special maintenance on equipment to achieve maximum machine performance based on equipment specifications and acquired knowledge of machine operations.
· Record maintenance and service calls in maintenance log book as require
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Set up, operate and maintain roll fed digital ink jet 4-color press.
· Set up, operate and maintain saddle stitcher and perfect binder.
· Perform operator maintenance and work with phone support to trouble shoot issues.
· Maintain clean work area.
· Monitor supply levels and assist with consumable orders.
· Working knowledge, awareness, and compliance with ISO Procedures
· May require additional availability to work evenings and/or weekends.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
· Ability to review color and make adjustments as needed.
· Reads and interrupts work orders and production schedules.
· Consistently demonstrate the ability to work with manufacturing management to achieve company goals including customer satisfaction and company profitability.
· Demonstrate proficiency in the use of the Hagen data collection system and display consistency and accuracy in meeting data collection requirements specified in the quality documentation and by management.
· Demonstrate willingness to accept direction from supervisors, management and peers to improve quality and performance.
· Demonstration willingness to work together with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.
RESPONSIBILITES
· Follow all safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to proper use of PPEs, safe ergonomic practices, and proper and safe handling of chemicals.
· Maintain working knowledge, awareness, and compliance with ISO Procedures.
· May require additional availability to work evenings and/or weekends.
· Other duties as assigned, including working where directed, be it on varying presses or in other departments.
Requirements:
PHYSICAL REQUREMENTS
· Excellent vision, including the ability to perceive color
· Ability to operate jacks safely
· Ability to remain physically and mentally alert during second shift hours (6pm – 4am)
· Dexterity
· Capable of repeated standing, walking, sitting, bending, and lifting of boxes up to 50lbs for 8-12 hours at a time
· Ability to work at a rapid pace
· Ability to tolerate being exposed to loud noises and moving machinery (PPE provided)
