Scope/Purpose of the PositionThe Trainer collaborates cohesively with production to train the associates for all production positions including machine operators, line conductors and/or packaging operators. The role includes training and developing each trainee and will conduct weekly evaluations as needed. The trainer is critical to the onboarding of new employees and may participate in new hire orientations including a facility walk through tour of the plant, as needed. The trainer will communicate Communication with their direct supervisor and production supervisors/managers daily. The trainer is expected to always lead by example for all operators.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions· Acclimate new hires to onboarding stages.
· Identifies ways to enhance and improve the training program including bringing forward suggestions to management.
· Communicates with direct supervisor and production Supervisors/Managers for daily training assignments, including current employees, as needed.
· Communicate weekly report findings to both Direct Supervisor and Production.
· Plans or participates in developing training course objectives.
· Presents training/instruction to both groups and individual employees as needed.
· Assess training needs and evaluate training effectiveness.
· Provides effective training to steadily increase work performance of new associates in order to meet or exceed established efficiency goals.
· Follows training program guidelines and outline for all positions.
· Ensures completion of Qualification Cards for each position and distribution to Production Management.
· Communicate deviations to the Production Supervisors/Managers, as needed.
· Attend and engage in weekly training meetings.
· When not actively training a trainee or working on open projects for the training program, the trainer will assist in downtime periods with rework, corrugate, labeling, waste removal, breaks, etc.
· The trainer will be expected to follow-up and shadow all certified employees on a continual basis.
· The trainer will promote product and packaging quality.
· Trainer will uphold and promote the standard of complying with all OSHA regulations.
· Trainer will wear the proper PPE and attire when on the production floor; including but not limited to gloves, hairnets, beard nets and safety shoes.
· The trainer will adhere to all GMP guidelines to and from the production floor; including but not limited to utilizing both handwashing and sanitizing stations, wearing of lab coat smock, no candy, food, gum, tobacco or lozenges in both the locker room and on the production floor.
· Trainer must maintain all SQF and Food Safety practices; including but not limited to organized tooling, easily read lot numbers and maintaining an overall clean and organized workspace.
· Trainer will participate actively in all safety processes and activities. The trainer will remain observant to all potential safety hazards and will report as needed.
· Miscellaneous tasks as assigned, i.e., creation/modification of SOP's, troubleshooting guides, if and Then projects, etc.
Requirements:
Job Qualification Requirements· Minimum 1-year experience lean manufacturing production and/or training experience preferred.
· High school/GED diploma required.
· Ability to effectively deliver constructive feedback to address knowledge, skill, and performance gaps professionally and appropriately.
· Excellent communication, Interpersonal and Organizational skills
· Ability to multitask and react to changing priorities with good time management.
· Continuously observe and evaluate operations to identify problems and/or opportunities for improvement.
· Ability to work quickly and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
· Knowledge in HACCP and SQF.
· Understanding of safe work practices i.e., GMPS, Safety and Environmental practices.
Physical Requirements· Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb (including stairs/ladders).
· Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
· Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
· Physical dexterity necessary to handle supplies, machine parts and tools.
· Vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Compensation details: 22.49-22.49 Hourly Wage
