DESCRIPTION:
Transit Operators are responsible for the safe operation of buses and transportation of passengers over assigned routes throughout Park City and Summit County. This position entails performing various related duties and specialized tasks as assigned, including Route Operations Coordinator, operator training, research and clerical work, marketing, paratransit operations, and facility maintenance. This is a winter seasonal position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass and maintain DOT Physical Requirements.
- Safety sensitive position requires mandatory and/or random drug and alcohol screenings.
- Able and willing to workday or evening shifts, weekends, and holiday shifts as assigned.
- Able to adhere to the work requirements of seasonal service demands, including overtime and extra shift requirements, and limited availability of time off during peak service demands and special events.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Working knowledge of Park City & Summit County transit routes and operations.
- Skilled and knowledgeable in the safe and efficient operation of multiple types and sizes of Transit vehicles, including diesel and electric power plants, body-on-chassis vehicles, and low-floor Transit coaches of varying lengths.
- Proficient in the use and application of multiple transit technologies, including the ITS/AVL bus locator systems, destination signs, two-way radio systems, and is capable of training other bus operators in the correct use and procedures for operating such systems properly.
