Job Title: CVICU/Coronary Nurse (ICU) Job Specialty: Cardiovascular ICU, Intensive Care Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day/Evening, 12-hour shifts every other weekend rotation, some holidays Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience, NextStage CVVH machine knowledge required, Cardiothoracic Surgery experience preferred, experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital License: WI nursing license or compact license from the traveler's permanent address state Certifications: BLS/ACLS certified through American Heart Association, Basic Arrhythmia experience, UW Health Telemetry test required Must-Have: - Permanent address outside a 50-mile radius of Madison - Completed two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years - Successful completion of a 13-week traveler assignment - Two references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only) Job Description: - Provide high-quality care to patients in the Cardiothoracic Surgery and Transplant unit - Care for patients requiring specialized care for cardiac and thoracic surgeries, heart and/or lung transplants, and medical devices - Be part of a team delivering care with a focus on patient and family needs - Will float and may have shifts scheduled in multiple units based on staffing needs - Proficient use of modern file formats required for submission of profiles - Follow UW Health guidelines and protocols for patient care and nursing procedures.
