Description:
- 4 L&D rooms, OBGYN Ward, & Outpatient Clinic in the Hospital
- 2 shared ORs with General Surgery
- Outpatient clinic has Federal Grants to support Family Planning and Breast/Cervical Cancer Screens
- With adequate staffing, the department does outreach to neighboring islands
- GYN Surgeries are open abdominal, vaginal, or laparoscopic
- Getting women off-island for care is a process that takes hours to reach destination, so most are cared for at this facility- the only hospital on the islands.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides outpatient OB/GYN care (prenatal care including complicated high-risk pregnancies, postpartum care, health care maintenance for women, gynecologic problems, etc.)when not on-call or in OR.
- Provides OB/GYN on-call service including consultation (ER and other services) inrotation with other OB/GYN providers.Provides back-up support and general supervision of midwives in L& D.
- Cares for hospitalized OB/GYN patients at CHC in rotation with other OB/GYN providers.May be asked also to follow own patients if deemed necessary by the Chairperson.
- May provides outer island OB/GYN service as needed.
- Works 40 hours per week on average plus on-call duty and weekend rounds as assigned in rotation with other OB/GYN providers.
- Participates in hospital standing committees, CME and Quality Assurance activities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- US Territory, must be American residency-trained
- Board Certified/Eligible
- 90% of Federal taxes refunded at 6 months tenure, no additional federal taxes, low state taxes, no sales tax
- Annual salary $226,000
- Island living is remarkably less expensive than US Mainland
- 26 days paid vacation, plus 14 holidays
- One-time $10,000 relocation assistance plus airfare
- ALSO, ACLS, BLS Certifications
- FQHC qualified for Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness program
- Active Medicaid/Medicare enrollment preferred, eligible for enrollment required
- Client contact and hiring manager sit on the licensing board
