Counselor- Pediatric Care Practice Job Description

Successful applicants will be comfortable with a flexible, fast paced, team-based work environment, and providing mental health and substance use treatment to youth and adolescents. This position will include up to 2-3 days working within a Pediatric Medical Office. The remaining days could be either Telehealth (WFH) or in the local Maryhaven office. Technical Assistance will be offered by Nationwide Children's Hospital, Partners for Kids (PFK), in collaboration with Maryhaven, Inc. The Counselor will work within the pediatric primary care clinic as a regular team member, delivering evidence-based services for children, their families, and consultation to primary care providers and staff. Work closely with primary care providers and staff to develop and implement an integrated treatment plan. Provide ongoing mental health and substance use counseling care in the pediatric office or the local office Maryhaven. Will provide service to a diverse population of children and families in terms of age (3-21) and presenting concerns (mental, physical, social, developmental, and academic needs).
Counselor, Pediatric Care Practice Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work, professional counseling, or marriage and family therapy.
- 2 years of experience working with children and youth preferred.
- Experience working in primary care or medical teams beneficial.
- Independently licensed counselor, social worker, or marriage and family therapist (LISW, LPCC, IMFT) in the State of Ohio.
