Pay Range: $21 to $42/hr + shift differentials - rate to be determined upon experience/skills assessment
We are also offering a sign on bonus of $3k to $10k for experienced Veterinary Technicians!

Our Specialty Veterinary Technicians work alongside our veterinarians to ensure compassionate patient care and provide medical support no matter what the day brings. While your day to day tasks may vary, some responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): - Give accurate and detailed rounds
- Assist veterinarian with advanced procedures and diagnostics including neurological evaluations, preparing patient and monitoring for CSF collection, surgical prep/monitoring for procedures such as hemilaminectomies and endoscopic procedures
- Understand and interpret ECG parameters and common abnormalities
- Appropriately calculate and set up continuous rate infusions
- Understand the different types of crystalloids and colloids and know when they should be used. Set up and maintain a buretrol with fluids and additives
- Understand and identify bradycardic and tachycardic arrhythmias
- Perform routine intravenous inductions and intubate anesthetized patients safely. Demonstrate how to check correct positioning and cuff inflation (RVT only)
- Perform basic suture techniques (RVT only)
- Assist with and perform basic and advanced CPR
- Correctly and safely restrain animals
- Familiarity with common medications used within the Department (and within hospital)
- Anesthesia On-Call shifts may be required
Our ideal candidates will have:
- 2 + years of previous veterinary technician experience preferably within ER/Specialty
- RVT license preferred
- Willingness to learn
- Excellent verbal and written communication

These include a complete laboratory (CBC/Chemistry/ Siemens Rapid Point Blood Gas Analyzer/I-stat/SCA2000, SnapDx, VetTest, TEG), monitoring devices (Cardell Max 12/Telemetry/NIBP/Invasive BP/telemetry), digital radiography, color flow Doppler ultrasound (Toshiba Aplio, GE Logiq S7, P6, Sonoscape portable ultrasound GE Vivid Cardiac and Phillips CX50 cardiac ultrasound), OEC 9800 & 9900 fluoroscopy with neurovascular package, 64 slice helical CT, and 1.5T MRI. Each hospital is fully equipped with Pulmonetics or Maquet Servo critical care ventilators.
