24 Seven is partnering with a top global sportswear client to help them find a Principle Communications Manager for this hybrid position in Boston. This is a 6 month contract with likelihood to extend. While on contract, you'd be eligible for benefits and more.
Ideal Candidate: will have a bachelor's degree in communications or public relations and 10+ years of relevant experience preferably with large consumer and brand focused companies. Must have experience working with a global brand, preferably with markets in SE Asia and South America. Bilingual fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Thai, Malay, Indonesian, Lao, Burmese, Cambodian or Filipino preferred.
We are looking for a Principle Communications Manager to lead all facets of Communications for the Global Partners Geography. This person will lead the team who drives the narrative, positions the company internally and within the marketplace, protects the company’s reputation and inspires our communities around the world.
The Principle Communications Manager will oversee the creation and drive compelling and strategic stories and campaigns to define and elevate the brand and our leadership. Work will focus on driving communication strategies that position the brand as a forward-thinking company redefining how today’s youth interacts with brands.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
As the Principle Communications Manager you will lead the function across the core facets of corporate, consumer and employee communications. You will establish and strengthen authentic connections with internal and external audiences to advance the narrative through clear, consistent, breakthrough brand, purpose and product storytelling.
A typical week might include leading and coordinating multi-territory plans (with specific focus on Mexico, Brazil, Australia and other key markets) to achieve the best possible coverage for Global Partners, while driving the strategy and budget planning for all related Communications events. It will also include building and developing strategic media relationships with key media and media influencers that regularly cover or engagement with the brand, while actively creating new ones.
As Principle Communications Manager you will proactively engage with and drive storytelling around our diverse workforce to position the brand as the most inspiring company for employees. You will also act as media spokesperson for the brand at key brand and corporate events as well as develop and execute media messaging, including brand, athlete, influencer and crisis communications.
Equally, you will participate in the development of strategies, messages, plans and communications tools to successfully enhance the brand's reputation in the areas of Sustainability, Community Impact, and Inclusivity.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will directly report to the VP, Global Communications with a dotted line into the VP/GM, Global Partners.
As part of the Global Communications org, you will engage with your Global Communications counterparts at the Global level and across the brand's other Geography teams (NA, Asia, WE) to align on and drive annual and seasonal planning and execution.
As a member of the GP Geography team, you will work closely with the other functional and territory leads to inform strategic planning, particularly Marketing (for Consumer Comms), the Geography and Territory GMs (for Employee Comms) and other key Global Partner functional leaders (for Corporate Comms).
Finally, you will work as an integrated member of the Global Partners Leadership Team (GPLT) to both provide counsel and develop and execute strategic communications planning.
WHAT YOU BRING
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, business or related field.
• A minimum 10 years relevant work experience.
• Previous experience working with consumer and brand focused companies is preferred, not required.
• A self-starter who instinctively and consistently creates personal and professional stretch goals and meets them.
• Skilled at planning, organizing, prioritizing and executing simultaneous projects and activities.
