Description:
New England College of Optometry (NECO) is a small, independent, graduate institution located in Boston's Back Bay
neighborhood. NECO seeks an Assistant Building Manager - Maintenance Technician II for sites which include the
College's historic Back Bay campus and two eye care clinics located on Boston's Commonwealth Avenue and in
Roslindale Square. The Assistant Building Manager - Maintenance Technician II reports to, assists, and works under the
general direction of the Manager of Building & Grounds and works closely with the Manager of Compliance and Safety.
The Assistance Building Manager - Maintenance Technician II is an integral member of the Operations team, will
occasionally have building opening and closing responsibilities and is the person in charge of building operations when
the management team is not onsite. This person will work closely with the custodial and security teams to manage
events and special projects. This person will be the key contact for all vendor activity in the building(s) up to and
including project managing small construction tasks. This person will at the direction of the Manager of Building and
Grounds performs a variety of tasks to include but not limited to maintenance repairs, preventative maintenance, light
construction, room set up/turn over, snow removal, safety inspections, and any tasks required to ensure a safe and
healthy environment.
The Assistant Building Manager, Maintenance Technician II will be required to be proficient in the following tasks up to
but not requiring licensure:
- Light Electrical Light Construction
- Basic Plumbing Event
- Room Set up / Room Turn Over
- Wall Repair/ Patch / Paint Furniture Reconditioning
- Repair Tiling
- Grouting
- Snow Removal / By hand / By machine
Salary Range: $63,000 - $65,000

Requirements:
- Full background check
- Current MA Drivers license at the time of hire
- Clean driving history
- The ability to speak, read, and write English clearly
- Basic computer and smartphone skills
- Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule to include nights and weekends
- Must be able to function as a key carrier to open and close the facility
- Must be able to respond to after-hours emergencies
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds as well as work in small spaces, working at heights from ladders, scaffolding, etc.
