Kaizen Promotion Office Engineer Job Reports To: Pursuit–Kaizen Promotion Office Leader
Job Summary:
Responsible for passionately leading kaizen workshops, engaging the entire workforce in implementing and institutionalizing one-piece flowlines.
Major Responsibilities:
- Participate and lead kaizen workshops.
- Must utilize Kaizen tools to support manufacturing processes and flow lines.
- Research, understand and implement right sized solutions for quality and process improvements.
- The individual must be willing and capable of Moonshining (develop, modify and build) machinery or devices that adheres to Pursuit’s Universal No’s, and ensuring operator and part safety.
- Lead and support Pursuit Tiered Review Process.
- Basic Blueprint reading and interpretation.
- Basic design and fabrication skills.
- Provide creative and innovative hands-on solutions.
- Capable of collaborating with all levels within of the organization such as Operators, Engineers, Leads, Quality, EH&S, and Pursuit KPO.
- Support and participate in various roles throughout the company as needed.
- Willing to learn and mentor others.
- Travel to other Pursuit sites to participate and lead kaizen workshops.
- Cover for the Site KPO leader when necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, manufacturing engineering, or quality engineering,
- Must be self-motivated with a sense of urgency and adaptability.
- Minimum 3 years of Manufacturing and Operation experience
- A strong passion for Kaizen, with a servant leader mindset.
- Understanding of mechanical components and machine design.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and with others in a team environment.
- Communication & problem-solving skills.
Work Environment:
Primarily shop floor environment.
Additional Comments:
- Kaizen knowledge & experience preferred.
- Familiarity with requirements for aerospace component manufacturing that includes having knowledge of aerospace fabrications, machining, laser technology, welding, coatings, and heat treatment is also preferred, but not required.
