PURPOSE OF THE POSITIONWe are currently looking for a General Manager -Tullahoma. The Tullahoma Plant General Manager oversees our two Resins and Molding plants in Tullahoma, TN, and is responsible for the day-to-day operations to safely and profitably deliver high-quality products and services that meet or exceed customer expectations. This role is also pivotal in fostering a strong safety culture across all operations.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES· Develop and implement plant-level goals and visions that align with the Business Plan for T1 and T2, ensuring both facilities meet or exceed their objectives.
· Based on outside sales projections and molding production schedules, manage staffing and allocate resources effectively to support production goals and strategic initiatives.
· Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineering teams to integrate new processes and equipment (e.g., Plank/Interior Parts/Expansion), optimizing production planning and addressing space limitations effectively.
· Identify new methods and systems to maintain EPP/EPE production costs.
· Provide leadership to Managers, Supervisors, and Leads to identify solutions to chronic manufacturing concerns.
· Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovation, efficiency, and best practices across all production processes.
· Oversee inventory and space requirements to ensure accurate tracking of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
· Conduct periodic inventory audits to maintain accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
· Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the plant's assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
· Monitor actual performance against the budget on a regular basis and adjust budgets and forecasts as necessary to reflect changes in the business environment.
· Evaluate capital expenditure requests and prioritize investments that align with the plant's objectives.
· Analyze production costs and work with production teams to reduce waste and optimize resource utilization.
· Prepare reports and presentations for senior management highlighting financial performance, key metrics, and areas for improvement.
Requirements:
SKILLS AND EDUCATION
- 10+ years of manufacturing management experience with a progressive manufacturing organization responsible for parts manufacturing in a high-volume environment. Auto Parts Manufacturing experience is a plus.
- 5-10 years of experience managing a facility required to maintain a quality system (TS 16949 & ISO knowledge).
- 5-10 years of experience leading technical projects from inception to implementation.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; MBA with a technical background will also be considered. - Strong leadership abilities.
- Technical/Project Management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities, particularly in relation to budgeting and financial management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to define goals and direction clearly.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively sell plans and approaches, and to evaluate and bridge intra and inter-departmental communication gaps.
