Annual Salary: $84,500 - $100,000
Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Position Overview
The Digital Monetization Manager is part of our vision to pioneer the future of sports and entertainment.
This role will focus on driving revenue via digital platforms for Sharks Sports & Entertainment. They will guide the use of digital fan engagement platforms across social, web, mobile app, and online spaces of opportunity to generate or increase SSE revenue streams. In this highly collaborative role, this person will work across SSE revenue and brand areas to influence digital activations and maximize revenue opportunities or conversions supporting ticket sales, merchandise sales, global partnerships and more. This person will use data analysis, education about new technologies and/or guidance of industry-leading tactics to optimize the effectiveness of digital marketing campaigns to drive greater revenue. They will also focus on the overall monetization strategy across digital and marketing platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maximizing revenue potential of SSE business through digital platform strategy and implementation tactics.
- Identify and implement workflows for efficiency in reporting, analyzing, and converting revenue generation and growth.
- Collaborate with other SSE functions such as Marketing, Business Analytics & Technology, Ticket Sales, Retail, Global Partnerships to develop standard practices and optimize sales approach on digital channels.
- Lead or support digital/social ideation for global partnership, ticket sales, and retail sales tactics.
- Explore digital technology opportunities and present recommendations with ROI strategies connected to how the platform drives net revenue growth for SSE.
- Influence SSE Content Strategy so that content packages and global partnership opportunity is created, and follow-up revenue is generated with the arrival of each new season’s content plan.
- Develop and aid execution of comprehensive digital campaign strategies that align with organizational goals and emphasize revenue generation.
- Communicate with key stakeholders to keep them informed about progress of digital campaigns, providing regular updates on performance metrics and areas for improvement.
- 5-10% travel is required, when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Marketing, Communications, or a related major and 8 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong experience and knowledge of branded content strategy, digital marketing, SEO, mobile marketing, social media marketing, e-commerce, and other digital sales strategies.
- Strong understanding of how social media platforms, website optimization and mobile app strategies can best support revenue streams.
- Proficiency in analytics tools and data-driven decision-making.
- Experience working with digital platforms or revenue streams within the sports or entertainment industries is preferred.

- Strong hockey knowledge and experience working around a sports team is a plus.
- Demonstrable working knowledge of the latest social media/online culture, jargon, and technical features.
- Proficiency with interactive technologies such as social media and mobile apps
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; must be able to present ideas and information clearly
- Strong attention to detail and outstanding organization skills
- Ability to review large amounts of online information and identify key data points or trends relevant to the SSE brands
- Ability to adjust and prioritize within a changing business environment
- It is imperative that you can work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
- Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills, as well as ability to manage your own time and implement your own schedule
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand and utilize a computer for extended periods of time
- Communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals
- Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead and lift up to 15 lbs with or without accommodation
- Physically navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities during normal work hours and events with or without accommodation
- Ability to work occasional extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays (all with advance notice)
- May be required to travel to other company locations
- May be required to attend conference, events, and training sessions within Bay Area or in- or out-of-state locations.
