Purpose Statement:
Northstar Behavioral Health is a team of professionals that specialize in medication for opioid use disorder through a multi-faceted programming structure for those battling opioid addiction and/or stimulant addiction.
Key Result Areas:
- Client satisfaction results from clients per month average over 4
- Clients have less than 3 unexcused absences per month
- Ensure compliance changes delivered by auditor happens within one week
- Client retention per month is higher than 50%
Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential Functions)
- Provide clinical services and document appropriately (comprehensive assessments, group therapy, individual therapy, etc) in accordance to NBH policies and procedures and standards established by governing bodies.
- Coordinate care with internal (Nursing, Mental Health Providers, Treatment Coordinators, and Peer Recovery Support Specialist) and external (Department of Corrections, court, probation, child protective services, other providers) entities to improve outcome of clients recovery.
- Participate in scheduled meetings: clinical, multidisciplinary, individual, etc.
- Exhibits knowledge of core competencies in relation to working with co-occurring disorders through continuing education and implementing skills into all aspects of treatment.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

- Outpatient group attendance is greater than 90% (billable units) per track.
- Ensure compliance changes delivered by auditor happens within one week.
- Client retention per month is higher than 50%
- Clinical staff are to have documentation done within one day.
Requirements:
Required Skills and Experience: (Minimum requirements in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge skills and abilities)
- Must be licensed by the Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor or acknowledged as Alcohol and Drug Counselor - Temporary
- Associates degree or higher
- Must have 1 or more years providing chemical dependency counseling (supervised internship applies)
- CPR Certification or attain within 30 days
- Must have 2 years of freedom from chemical use problems
- Must pass a State of Minnesota Background Check
- Must possess a current Minnesota Driver's License with acceptable driving record
- Ability to use Google Suite and other computer skills
Additional Skills and Experience: (Preferred or helpful)
- Familiar with medication for opioid use disorder Model
- Specialty training such as DBT-SUD, CBT, MI, etc.
- Familiar with Procentive, Electronic Health Record System
