Reports to: Administrative Director of Early Childhood Education
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the school.
- Function collaboratively with the Administrative Director to assess school campus needs, develop a meaningful school improvement plan, and introduce those changes in school programs and personnel assignments to achieve the performance objectives and goals.
- Diligently enforce early childhood education federal, state, and local statutes; and comply with audit requirements and Health Department policies.
- Provide proactive, comprehensive, and facilitative leadership for the school in the planning and implementation of school improvement initiatives.
- Implement a challenging curriculum.
- Train, observe, and evaluate school teacher performance including upholding Christian values and teachings which support the ideology taught at Family Church.
- Provide staff development/training opportunities. Provide assistance to individual teachers to improve classroom instruction and student performance.
- Enhance the decision-making capabilities of all early childhood personnel.
- Develop new skills and approaches to enhance the school.
- Gather, analyze, and use data from varied and multiple sources to form concepts and hypothesis, and to consider alternatives for improvement.
- Provide a clean, safe, and nurturing school environment.
- Provide effective communications with and seek input from parents, colleagues, teachers, students, and the community.
- Encourage increased involvement by parents, Family Church, and the local community to achieve school improvement and accountability.
- Emphasize increased literacy in reading, writing, and mathematics for all students.
- Focus on improved achievement for all students at the school.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Florida Preschool Director’s Credential Level 1 with VPK Director Endorsement. Preferred Trauma-Informed Care Endorsement.
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in early childhood or related field.
- Ability to meet all minimum eligibility requirements to be a member of Family Church.
- Affirm the Family Church Network statements of belief and practices as codified in the organizational bylaws and detailed in the Baptist Faith and Message confessional statement of 2000.
- Maintain a close and healthy walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Maintain a high standard of excellence and moral character.
- Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow.
- Professional and positive demeanor.
- Record of consistent, high-level performance.
- Successful teaching experience.
- Leadership ability, including motivating school personnel to achieve goals and objectives, decision making, management skills and delegation, excellent oral and written skills.
- Knowledge of school-related data and the ability to utilize such data for decision-making purposes.
- Able to interact collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, staff, and church administration.
- Must pass drug test and Level 2 background check.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and walking throughout the day.
- Able to lift 25-50 pounds multiple times a day.
- Must be able to sit and stand on the floor through out the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with children.
- Able to handle moderate to high stress levels.
