Are you an experienced, talented Wet Painter? You're familiar with applying paint (not powder coat) to metal? We need a painter who takes pride in performing a great job to join our team. As a Wet Painter, you will be responsible for for properly coating small to large parts of different metal substrates to various customer and commercial paint specifications. Must also have experience and talent with Powder Coating.
What you will do?
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming.
- Prep substrate of parts per specs before paint is applied to ensure good adhesion.
- Mix coating materials to proper consistency, adding solvents or thinners for efficient and even paint application
- Read and understand prints.
- Maintains innate attention to detail during paint processes to achieve desired finish. (HVLP cup gun and 30 psi pressure pot system)
- Set up, analyze and maintain various types of painting systems.
- Use test equipment to determine quality of paint finish and solve problems if needed.
- Mix and measure paint per instructions.
- Follow customer specifications precisely.
- Use measuring equipment, i.e. scales, squares, tape measures, etc.
- Pass respirator fitness and wear Company supplied painter's full body suit.
- Adhere to all Safety guidelines, laws, etc.
- Advise and direct other team members as needed.
- Ensure all work meets high-quality standards and safety regulations.
- Work in a variety of different departments and/or operate various machines depending on business needs.
Qualifications
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and/or teach
- Requires complete knowledge of both wet paint and powder coat application process
- Able to read and follow schematics and blueprints.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical stamina to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to and pride in delivering high-quality results.
- Physical requirements include the ability to walk and stand on concrete surface the entire shift, arm and hand mobility, and ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs intermittently.
Experience in automotive painting is a plus.
