We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. This individual will be responsible for writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and providing support and services across our various alternative high school campuses in Phoenix. The ideal candidate will have a strong balance of administrative and classroom experience and will maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, school staff, and parents to ensure that IEP goals are being met and adjusted as necessary.
- Provide direct instructional support to students with special needs, tailoring teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
- Conduct assessments and interpret data to inform instruction and IEP development.
- Support the Director of Special Education in administrative tasks, including record-keeping, compliance monitoring, and reporting.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students with special needs, ensuring their academic success.
- Facilitate professional development and training for staff on special education practices and compliance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Travel between various Phoenix campuses to provide on-site support and services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid Arizona state teaching certification in Special Education.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in special education, including both classroom teaching and administrative roles.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between campuses.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in alternative education settings.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
