POSITION TITLE: Horizon Medical Supply Store Manager
Department: Durable Medical Supply
Reports to: Chief Practice Management Officer

Purpose of Position: To manage the Durable Medical Store, act as the QI/Performance Coordinator of Horizon Health.
Essential Functions:
- Supervision of staff to include recruiting, interviewing and hiring personnel to ensure adequate staffing.
- Knowledge of DME billing software. Be able to perform all functions of the billing component.
- Basic accounting principles.
- Manage Account Receivables.
- Maintain records on all clients for who insurance claims have been filed.
- Knowledge of reimbursement guidelines for insurance companies.
- Maintain effective communication with health care providers on services and products.
- Participates in community events as appropriate.
- Participate in area Health Fair as appropriate.
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and maintain appropriate records reflecting these guidelines.
- Develop and maintain policy and procedures reflecting the current practices of the DME Store.
- Prepare the budget.
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
- Maintain an open line of communication with supervisor.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of supplies to meet customer needs without creating oversupply.
- Develop comprehensive product knowledge.
- Set up charge accounts for suppliers.
- Be customer friendly at all times.
- Approve PTO, etc
- Perform Annual Performance and Evaluations for store associates.
- Attend required organizational meetings and educational meetings necessary for compliance of regulatory requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Assume other duties as requested by Supervisor.
- Prepares and updates Policies and Procedures for accreditation and participates in accreditation.
- Prepares annual report for Board of Director.

Requirements:
Education, Qualifications, Experience:
High School graduate with some post high school education preferred.
2 or more years of health related experience preferred.
Expectation of Service: This is a non-exempt 40 hour per week position. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Personal Characteristics: Friendly, compassionate, high energy, time oriented, well organized, able to do multifaceted tasks, neat in appearance, excellent communication skills, independent and has a vision to see what needs to be done.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: ICD-9 coding, CPT-4 coding, use medical software, charge master, balancing of cash drawer, data entry. Word processing, spreadsheet and data base knowledge, inventory control, federal and state regulations for all aspects of DME store operation. Maintain high level of knowledge for proper billing practices.
Equipment: Computer, telephone, typewriter, calculator, printers, copiers, fax machine.
Physical Requirements: This position requires continual sitting and typing at a computer terminal, some walking, bending, stooping, and lifting of up to 25 pounds.
