Join a leading company in the energy sector as we seek a Director of Communications to spearhead the development and implementation of strategic communication strategies.
This role will focus on enhancing our company's reputation through targeted communication initiatives and strategic campaigns, while fostering strong relationships with media and key stakeholders. The Director will also serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage strategic communications campaigns, including the development of key messaging, target audiences, tactics, and implementation
- Build an editorial calendar working with key internal departments
- Serve as an advisor and partner to the business on media relations and crisis communications
- Draft press releases and create supporting content
- Cultivate strong relationships with the media and serve as the spokesperson.
- Respond to media requests for information
- Set up and monitor press coverage and recommend opportunities for increased message reach
- Stay ahead of emerging media trends and channels, and update strategy accordingly
- Manage agency relationships and budgets and collaborate with stakeholders to produce impactful results
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- BA or BS with 10 to 15 years of relevant experience
- Business acumen with the ability to understand complex issues
- In-depth understanding of the company’s strategy and direction for the future
- Ability to think creatively and innovatively
- Demonstrates initiative, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, big picture thinker
- Strong project management, organizational, strategic planning, analytical, creative and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Pro at building effective relationships and influencing people
- Proven ability to be a global team leader and player
- Approach to work should be take charge, proactive, and very detailed-oriented
