Job Title: Accountant
Department: Accounting & Finance
Reports To: Director Corporate Controller
Position Type: Full Time
Schedule: 8:00am to 4:30pm - Monday through Friday
Salary: $70,000.00 to $85,000.00/Yearly
Purpose of PositionTo contribute to the keeping of the company's general ledger and other accounting records for all operations of a significant, high volume customer account

Requirements:
Position Competency
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance
- 0-5 years experience of relevant accounting experience
- A strong grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and effective internal controls
- The ability to perform account analysis/reconciliations and other accounting activities
- Advanced problem solving abilities
- Highly organized with close attention to detail
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with accounting ERP systems
- Open mind and eager and willing to learn
Role ExpectationsAccounting:
- Actively involved with monthly close processing including posting journal entries and completing account reconciliations
- Responsible for preparation of journal entries, with appropriate supporting documentation
- Perform monthly close Balance Sheet reconciliations, as assigned
- Assist with posting credit card expense transactions ensuring proper approval and correct account posting
- Reconcile pass-though and cost plus transactions, matching vendor purchases to customer billings
- Assist with maintaining fixed assets
- Research and resolve accounting variances
- Keep up with activity on a daily basis
- Follow up with operations personnel to obtain needed information and to resolve issues
- Assist with gathering documentation for the annual financial statement audit
- Work with customer personnel as needed, always remembering the Customer First value while at the same time representing the company's interest
- Establish and maintain a process to detect errors and correct them prior to impacting the customer or internal financial reporting
- Work with the IT department to develop reports needed to support reconciliation activities
- Implement and document accounting procedures
- Protect the company's value by keeping financial information confidential
- Support the Director Corporate Controller, Vice President of Finance and Operations with projects and analysis as required
