The Digital Product Owner drives the continual development of our online customer experience. Leading the Agile Team from Marketing, you'll be responsible for evolving and transforming our digital front-end product into a growth-oriented marketing and sales engine. This role combines strategic vision, cross-functional collaboration, and a passion for innovation to enhance customer experience, improve operational efficiency, and drive digital commerce. The successful candidate will own the front end of SBLI.com, including the marketing website, direct-to-consumer insurance applications, and third-party integrations necessary for successful online transactions. Additionally, they will understand digital advertising platforms and how these platforms integrate with consumer-facing websites, from a tagging, data, and measurement standpoint.
Responsibilities include:
Product Strategy and Roadmap
- Develop and communicate a comprehensive digital product strategy aligned with SBLI's business goals, focusing on the marketing website and direct-to-consumer insurance applications.
- Create and maintain a clear product roadmap, outlining key milestones and deliverables.
Agile Management
- Lead an agile development team responsible for the front end of SBLI.com, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Prioritize and manage the product backlog, adapting to changing priorities and market dynamics.
Collaboration
- Collaborate internally with the Marketing team, as well as cross-functionally with IT, Operations, and Sales
- Prioritize business value and customer needs when working closely with partners to gather requirements and prioritize features.
- Ensure effective integration with third-party vendors/platforms necessary for successful insurance applications and purchases.
Performance Monitoring
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of digital insurance applications, including most notably digital sales
- Use data-driven insights to identify problem areas and optimize product performance.
User-Centered Digital Experiences
- Ensure that digital products meet the needs and expectations of our diverse customer base by championing a user-centered approach to the development of digital user experiences.
- Conduct user research and analysis to inform digital product decision-making
Innovation and Emerging Technologies
- Explore and assess emerging technologies and trends in the digital space, recommending innovative solutions to enhance our digital capabilities.
Digital Advertising Integration
- Understand and manage technical integrations with digital advertising platforms, ensuring seamless integration with consumer-facing websites.
- Oversee tagging, data collection, and measurement processes to enhance advertising effectiveness and customer acquisition.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in the digital and e-operations space within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Experience leading product teams.
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies, user experience design, and digital technology trends.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage and influence partners at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and lead multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance industry practices, regulations, and customer expectations.
- Knowledge of digital advertising platforms and their integration with consumer-facing websites, including tagging, data collection, and measurement.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or certifications are a plus.
