General Job Description
Dogwood Industries is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to lead our high-performing Finance team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing and streamlining all aspects of financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance to Ownership. In addition to managing day-to-day financial operations, the Controller will provide mentorship and guidance to the accounting team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for all aspects of the company's financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Develop and implement corporate cash management policies and procedures to optimize cash flow and minimize borrowing costs
- Evaluate strategic investment opportunities and recommend strategies to maximize returns while mitigating risk in accordance with Dogwood's risk tolerance level
- Collaborate with Senior Accountant to prepare and present cash flow projections, investment performance reports, and other financial analyses to Ownership for strategic planning
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements
- Responsible for the annual budgeting process and providing variance analysis to track performance against budgeted targets
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other accounting functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance and operational efficiency
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard Dogwood assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and ensure compliance with applicable requirements
- Collaborate with Senior Accountant and department leaders to develop and monitor departmental budgets and forecasts
- Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to members of the accounting team, fostering their professional development and growth

Requirements:
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred
- 10+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with 5+ years of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and analysis
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems; experience with ERP systems is a plus
- Experience with construction or industrial fabrication is a plus
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively

Compensation
$130K - $140K annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Location
This position is located at the Dogwood corporate office at 17706 Brickyard Rd, Bothell, WA 98011. This role is based at our physical location, and in-person attendance is required. This is a full-time, in office position.
Travel to Dogwood's manufacturing facilities in Sedro-Woolley and Everett, as needed.
