Our client who is a multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate located in Glendale CA is currently seeking an Assistant Licensing Manager.
Contract Position: 7 Months

Hybrid role - 4 days on site
Pay: Up to $40 an hour, W2
Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager will join the Apparel Sportswear team, focusing on Third Party Commercialization. The role involves managing several sub-categories and their associated licensee base with the aim of achieving or surpassing predetermined revenue targets and growth objectives across a diverse portfolio of brands.
Category Management:
Assist in defining and executing business strategies for assigned categories.
Drive strategic direction for assigned categories and support strategic initiatives for categories not directly assigned.
Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, competitors, and market dynamics.
Conduct market research, including competitive landscape analysis, consumer trends, and retail-shopping analysis.
Manage the licensee portfolio, including onboarding, issue resolution, data management, and daily relationship management.
Support management with contract negotiations, financial analysis, presentations, and various projects.
Finance and Business Planning:
Handle fiscal responsibilities for assigned categories, including annual budget planning and quarterly revenue forecasting.
Assist in finalizing forecasts and presenting them to internal management.
Collaborate with the team to identify new business opportunities and strategize for incremental growth.
Brand and Content Management:
Guide licensees in executing brand marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader brand and marketing plans.
Provide category/business input to the Brand team for strategic and brand planning.
Product Development:
Coordinate line reviews with licensees and the Product Development team.
Guide licensees to develop products in line with key property priorities and cross-company objectives.
Collaborate with the Sales team on product development for retailer-exclusive products.
Liaise with the Product Development team to ensure timely product approvals.
Prepare product presentations for both internal and external audiences.
Ensure licensee product lines meet quality and brand objectives.
Retail, Sales, and Marketing:
Align with the sales team on retail strategies that complement all brand segments.
Provide product and licensee information to support retail roadshows and presentations.
Build strong relationships with key business units, including franchise teams, marketing, and global partners.
Work with the Social and Sales Marketing team to define promotional and marketing plans, ensuring licensee participation.
Partner with the sales team on product assortment, retail planning, and sales pitches as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
Strong understanding of brand and property positioning, retail business development, and the retail environment.
Analytical and strategic thinker with experience in apparel and a strong understanding of fashion omni-channel retail.
Knowledge of licensees' production and creative capabilities/limitations.
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Outstanding organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments.
Self-starter, motivated, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
Proficiency in computer applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Keynote).
