Overview
Perform all phases of procurement and planning in support of company objectives, policies and requirements. This person will be responsible for all Capital Equipment procurement in support of the capital plan and serve as the liaison between the supplier and end-user. Candidates should be able to negotiate purchase order terms and s pecialize in planning, procuring machined parts, hardware, and special processes; ensuring that proper inventory levels are maintained and lead times are met to meet the needs of overhaul program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate the procurement of office supplies and capital expenditures. Including but not limited to obtaining quotes, negotiates pricing and awarding purchase orders.
- Ensure purchase order accuracy and compliance to customer and Kamatics specifications, requirements, and procedures.
- Determine and flow down material requirements from engineering drawings, contract review and special customer requirements to suppliers through purchase orders.
- Schedule, plan and expedite purchase orders in accordance with management, financial, engineering, quality, and schedule objectives.
- Ensure that visual management tools and metrics are established and maintained.
- Supports marketing and engineering objectives by providing quotations in accordance with lead-time guidelines.
- Maintains and communicates supplier promise dates to suppliers and stakeholders.
- Liaison between suppliers and value stream to assure continuing support of company, customer, and supplier objectives. Develops effective and professional relationships with suppliers.
- Partners with Accounts Payable in resolving invoice issues in a timely manner. Acts as a liaison between the accounts payable personnel and the supplier.
- Communicate concerns regarding supplier performance with supervisor. Report issues that impact manufacturing flow to stakeholders such as the Value Stream Manager.
- Generate spreadsheets, reports, and presentations as required. Maintain files, procurement documents, and supplier agreements.
- Collaborate and coordinate with internal and external customers. Supports business objectives. Contributes and promotes a positive team environment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Follow safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Report safety incidents to Value Stream Manager.
- Complies with Kamans Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Accomplish related results as required.
- Makes recommendations for improvements to work processes and procedures. Contributes to 5 S programs in work area.
- Manages other Material projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- BS degree in Business Management or equivalent.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of working experience with manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience with large capital purchases preferred.
