Berkshire Eye Surgery Center has an immediate need for a per diem Operating Room RN! At Berkshire Eye Surgery Center, we believe health and care are inseparable. We focus on offering a high quality, service oriented environment for your surgical procedure. Our facility is accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
Job Summary: The duties of scrub nurses in eye surgery begin before the procedure starts and continue after the patient has left the operating room. Our scrub nurses prepare the patient for the procedure. During surgery, they assist surgeons, monitor the sterility and safety of the surgical field, and keep a general watch over patients. They also ensure that the surgeon has the right instruments or tools at the right time. Experienced scrub nurses get to know their surgeons and are able to anticipate their needs. In some cases, nurses may take on more of a hands-on role to help surgeons during procedures.
